Ellsworth Staffer: Movin' On Up?

After helping Brad Ellsworth win in the 8th Congressional district, David Joseph, has been promoted to Senator Chris Dodd's Presidential Campaign as the Iowa Voter Contact Director.

In light of recent developments in Indiana's 8th Congressional District (Greg Goode/Brad Ellsworth Controversial Votes), one would think that keeping campaign staff to be a priority. It is obvious that Brad is having problems raising money, and the fact that his old finance director "jumped ship" might be one of the reasons for his dismal show in FEC reports.

Congresssional Approval Rating Drops Again

According to the latest Gallup Poll, the American public is losing faith in the U.S. Congress and the ability of the Democratic leadership to implement the campaign promises of a year ago...

From the most recent survey,

The honeymoon phase is over for the new Congress, as the public's ratings of Congress are down again this month. The latest congressional job approval rating (24%) is the lowest for the institution since Democrats took control of both houses in January, and is far below the 37% registered in February.

Ellsworth Launches Attack Against Goode

Yesterday (6/4/07), the Indiana Democratic Party sent out "An Important Message from Congressman Brad Ellsworth."

You may ask, "What is the important message?"

In what looks like a desperate attempt to raise some money for his re-election bid in 2008, Ellsworth is already going negative against any and all potential opponents. Below is an exerpt from the "important message" and we are stunned that Mr. Ellsworth is attacking Greg Goode, a private citizen...who is only rumored to have been courted by Republicans to run in 08.
Just last week, numerous news outlets began reporting that Greg Goode, a lobbyist from Indiana State University is considering running against me in the 2008 election. It is reported that Greg has been meeting with Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan, Republican strategist and advisor to President Bush, Karl Rove and House Republican Leader John Boehner. Not even in the race yet and Greg Goode is already displaying all of the lock step characteristics that we spent two years fighting against in the 2006 election.

Our friends at Paint the 8th Red have also been covering a developing story claiming Ellsworth is doing anything and everything to keep Goode out of the race...
